Welcome to Martyr Worthy Village Hall,
in the heart of the Itchen Valley.

The hall is located in Church Lane, opposite St Swithun’s Church, and has served the community for more than 100 years. It is an ideal venue for local groups, clubs, societies and exercise and other classes, as well as for family and children’s parties and smaller business functions. It is the home of many village events, often in conjunction with the Church, and for 25 years hosted the local kindergarten.

St Swithun’s Way, which forms the first stage of the Pilgrims Way long-distance path from Winchester to Canterbury, passes alongside the hall and the beautiful River Itchen is a short distance away down the lane.

 

The hall, approx 70 sq m/750 sq ft, is fully equipped with all necessary facilities, including kitchen, toilets, disabled access and WiFi. The enclosed garden is fitted with an all-weather artificial surface, which is safe for children, and there is parking in Church Lane.

Hire Charges

Normal charge: £10 per hour, throughout the year

 

Separate equipment hire per day:

 

Trestle tables (not chairs): £5 per table

 

Cutlery and crockery: £10 per 50 pieces


Tea urn: £10

Premises Licence in force issued by Winchester City Council allowing authorised activities on Monday to Sunday from 9am to 11pm.  The Licence does not authorise the sale of alcohol, for which a separate Temporary Event Notice is required: details available when booking.

    Defibrillator Installed

     We have now installed a new fully automatic defibrillator at the hall for the treatment of sudden cardiac arrest.  It is kept in a lockable cabinet located outside the kitchen entrance and is available for use by anyone who needs it.  It comes with clear, calm guidance and no prior first aid training or medical knowledge is required.”
